Cheltenham Saracens u8's Development 4-0 St Marks u8's
Saracens started their season in fine style.
Goals by Louis Pocket and Jed Peyton gave Saracens a first half 2-0 lead from which they never looked back on. Saracens started brightly & great passing opened the St Marks defense for Louis Pocket to fire in from close range. Constant ball possession caused St Marks problems throughout and soon Saracens scored their second when Peyton scored from a long range shot which flew into the top corner. Michael Johnston started in goal and made a brave close range save.
In the second half Saracens soon went 3-0 up from Ben Wellington. Pocket scored his second and Saracens 4th from good creative play involving Peyton, Wellington & Harry Shearer
Cheltenham Saracens A 3 -1 St Marks
Saracens emulated the Development side with a fine 3-1 win. A mistake by Peyton in goal allowed a gift for St Marks to open the scoring in the 1st Minute. This did not hinder Saracens who set about correcting the score from which they did after 5 mins. Bradley Edwards smashing in a shot which the St Marks did well to save but the ball rebounded to Shane Coulter who tapped in from close range. Edwards soon got on the scoring sheet with a fine shot from outside the box.
In the second half Jack Watts fired in from a corner to settle the score. Excellent defending by Capt William Tunnicliff & Bradley Edwards kept St Marks from making any impact in this game.

Cheltenham Saracens u8's "Development side" 5-0 Windsor Drive "B"
Saracens strong u8's development side, continued their good start to the season with an fine win over a spirited Windsor Drive side. Mom Louis Pockett scored a fine hat-trick & goals by Ben Wellington and a rocket of a goal by Jed Payton secured their second win on the trot. Saracens took the lead early when a pass by Jed Payton put pockett through who outpaced the defense and finished clinically on the bottom corner. Saracens pass and move game was a treat to watch and pockett soon added another to put saracens 2-0 up. Ben wellington scored from close range when the defense failed to clear. Continuous pressure resulted in Saracens fourth and pockett's third when again a 5 pass move split the defense for pockett to score a well worked goal. Jed Payton crashed in number 5 for Saracens firing into the top corner from well outside the box. Pockett has now scored 7 in 2 games for saracens since his move from swindon village
Cheltenham Saracens "A" 5-0 Windsor Drive "A"
Saracens "A" side emulated their Development side with a 5-0 win. 2 goals each for the saracens forwards Shane Coulter & Conor Carey and a late goal by defender Jack Watts meant the Saracens unbeaten run continued. Saracens were guilty of not finishing on a number of occasions early on, but excellent possession play eventually resulted in saracens first, Cary fired in from a good pass by Captain William Tunnicliff. Coulter then finished neatly when Put through by Alf Little.
In the second half Saracens continued to apply the pressure when Coulter scored his second and saracens third from a bradley Edwards long pass. Cary soon made it 4-0 from the best move of the game. Tunnicliff won the ball from near his own goal line, his pass found Little then through a combination of passes involving Edwards, Coulter, and Watts set up Cary who finished in fine style. Watts scored from close range from a Edwards corner to give Saracens a 5-0 win

Cheltenham Saracens u8's Development Side 2 - 0 Lakeside u8's 0
Saracens development side continue to progress with each game and came away with a fine 2-0 win. Goals from Ben Wellington & Jed Peyton made sure Saracens made it 3 wins in 3 games. Louis Pockett's excellent form continued and it with his threw ball to Ben Wellington that set Saracens on their way. Man of Match Jed Peyton made it 2-0 with a fine run and shot. Daniel Clarke & Simon Walker played well in their first game for the Saracens.
Cheltenham Saracens u8's 2 - 2 Lakeside u8's
Saracens threw away a 2 goal lead in this u8's A-Side fixture. Saracens played some excellent first half football and soon went 1-0 up when exchanges of passes by Conor Cary, Shane Coulter & Alf Little opened up the Lakeside defense for Coulter to score. Capt William Tunnicliff was excellent in defense with Jack Watts and kept any Lakeside attack to a minimum. Bradley Edwards's corner flashed across the box and needed only a touch to finish off. Bradley Edwards soon made it 2-0 when he shot in from close range.
In the second half Saracens were guilty of taking their foot off the pedal and gave away too much possession. Slack marking allowed Lakeside to score 2 goals from set pieces. Saracens failed to follow their first half performance and only excellent defending by Man of Match Tunnicliff kept them in the game. Both Edwards & Tunnicliff could have clinched a late winner from shots but saves by the keeper and clearances assured both teams a fine draw

Cheltenham Saracens u8's Development side 4 - 1 Brockworth u8's
Saracens Development side made it 4 wins out of 4 since they started the new season. With top scorer Louis Pocket promoted to the A-side, Saracens took no time in settling and Captain Jed Peyton took hold of the game setting up Shane Coulter with an early goal. Conor Cary then started a flowing 5 pass move which was dispatched in fine fashion by Captain Peyton. Harry Shearer playing his best game yet for the Saracens set up Coulter but the Brockworth keeper pulled off a superb close range save
In the second half Saracens began in flowing form and Coulter got his second and Saracens third when Simon Walker playing only his second game for the Saracens put a superb through ball for coulter to fire in from the edge of the box. Peyton scored his second and Saracens 4th when he took on the Brockworth defense and his pace put him clear to fire into the top corner. Brockworth never gave up and scored a deserved goal from a mistake by the Saracens defense.
Cheltenham Saracens u8's "A" 7 - 0 Brockworth u8's
Saracens were determined to put last weeks mistakes behind them and started the game with a fast pace. Mom Alf Little was dominant in Midfield and it was his through ball for Louis Pocket's first goal that set Saracens on their way. Bradley Edwards soon added a second when his wing play saw him outpace the Brockworth midfield and defense and finished from a tight angle. Edwards soon added his 2nd and Saracens third when he fired in from outside the box. A fine set piece by Little & Captain William Tunnicliff set up Pocket for his 2nd and Saracens 4th.
In the second half time Saracens again started bristly and Edwards soon notched his hat-trick when he fired in direct from a free kick. Jack Watts was unlucky not to get in on the scoring act when his close range shot was saved by the keeper. With ball possession being the key, Saracens passing game brought them their 5th When Pocket scored his Hat-trick from great passing and moving involving Little, Edwards & Tunnicliff. Michael Johnston in goal was determined to keep a clean sheet and he saved bravely at the feet of a Brockworth player. Edwards scored his 4th & Saracens 7th when again a flowing passing move saw him race away to finish once again from a tight angle.
Cheltenham Saracens Development 1 - 2 Windsor Drive "A"
Saracens Development took on the A-side of Windsor Drive but failed to carry on their previous good form. With 3 members playing with A-Side experience, the football was flat and slow, and it was from a mistake by the defence that let in Windsor Drive for their 1st Goal. Saracens had dominated most of the play but were guilty of negative forward play. Shane Coulter levelled for Saracens in the second half and just as it looked as if Saracens were going to score another a mistake by the Saras keeper gave Windsor Drive a late goal which Windsor Drive hung on to
Saracens "A" 4 - 1 Windsor Drive "A"
Saracens A-SIDE dominated this one sided game but were again guilty of some nagative play. Saracens really should have won by alot more goals but seemed hung over from the half term break. 2 goals in the first 5 mins effectivly won them the game. Goals by Bradley Edwards & Louis Pockett gave them a early lead which stayed that way untill half-time.In the second half again Saracens took the game to Windsor and Shane Coulter scored Saracens third from good work by Alf Little. Edwards scored the goal of the game when he rifled into the top corner. Windsor scored a consolation goal when the referee "Their Manager" harshly awarded a penalty when Capt William Tunnicliff was judged to have handled in the box
Next Game: Saturday 3rd November. Saracens welcome FC Lakers to the Folley.
Summer Tournaments March - July 2007
We played our first Tournament at Brockworth on Sunday 3rd June.
Our results were as followed. Brockworth 0-1, Hardwick 3-1, Abbeymead 1-1 and Longlevens 1-1. We finished third losing out on runners-up by 1 goal.
Player of the Tournament Alf Little
Next came the Southside Tournament which turned out to be very successful indeed. We won the Tournament without conceding any Goals. The Results were as followed.
Abbeymead 1-0. Lakeside 0-0. Southside Tigers 1-0. Southside Juniors 2-0. St Marks 1-0. Player of the Tournament Charlie
